Preserve Cord Blood to Save Life

Author Preservation of the cord blood is an important decision which you take in your life. The cord blood is collected from the umbilical cord and placenta which is then stored in the cord blood bank. The main reason for the storage of the cord blood is that it consists of the stem cells which are used to cure severe diseases. As the bone marrow consist of the stem cells but in most case it seems to be impossible that the bone marrow matches. So to avoid such critical situation the parents have decided to keep the blood safe in the blood bank.
Preserving the cord blood for the stem cells do not causes pain to the mother and baby. When the cord is discarded then the cord blood is collected to get stored. After the baby’s birth the umbilical cord is usually discarded and the decision of the storage of the cord blood would be wise as it would save one’s life in future. The whole blood storage procedure is not at all painful. This is a fact which most of the people are unknown about. The cost of cord blood storage would be costly as it includes some administrative fees but storing this blood would save your baby life in future in case of any disease.

Nursing School Orientation
Once you receive your acceptance letter into a nursing program and information about orientation dates. Schools have different names for their orientation programs. Some of the names I’ve heard are, Adaptathon, Taking Flight, and just plain old nursing school Orientation. This time will help you become familiar with the nursing school, its policies, and procedures, and a productive learning environment. Usually orientation lasts for about two weeks but the first day is always the longest. You should definitely dress comfortably because you will be one your feet for a long time. Attire should include a comfortable jogging suit or jeans and a t-shirt. Shoes can be flip flops to tennis shoes. You have already been accepted and have gone through the interview process so there is no need to come dressed to impress. Don’t dress like a bomb with an unkempt look, but you don’t want to be focused on how tight your belt is while trying to pay attention during orientation. Plus you will most likely purchase all the books needed for the rest of your nursing school courses. I had to make two trips to my car just to get all the books and supplies. There is an immense amount of information presented. The processing of your picture identification for admittance to the hospitals, clinics and the ordering of the Community and School of Nursing uniform and course materials are the most important aspects of this first day.
